Those were the days. That was a commute I could do again. 8.30 ferry from Falmouth to St Mawes, coffee and note-taking, 9.45 ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth. End of business trip. On the way out, thought about the nineteen eighties and the Central Line; on the way back, distracted by small children and their parents.
Doing a rejig of this website yesterday, I came across this pic, on a blog about enamel miniatures (thank you to Don Shelton; link to his site on the 'About Us' page). So I suppose I've also been thinking about the eighteen sixties. There's a novelist called Jack Finney, author of The Body Snatchers (you must have seen one of the films) and also Time and Again (sequel: From Time to Time) which deals with this recurring theme of interfering with the past. Maybe I could go back and discuss it with him.
