We're breaking records, in this country. Wettest January already, heaviest rainfall, hundred-year floods. But the weather's been weird for quite a while now. Is it more weird than the usual, long-run, talking-about-the-weather weird that we get in this country? I wonder, and I wonder whether we'd know if it was.
Global warming is too gradual. We're urged to change our behaviour. But it creeps up on us. A rainy spell is either global warming, or El Nino, or it's a rainy spell. You know if you're in the middle of an earthquake. You don't if the planet's getting warmer by a few fractions of a degree every year.
I wonder how Gaia will get along without us.
